Heavy rains and wind and hail struck five state sections overnight. The Gila Bend Ajo Highway was flash flooded blocking traffic and sweeping a Phoenician’s car from the roadway. An Ajo bound Sun Valley Lines bus with 12 passengers stalled. Damage from wind and hail topped $25,000, concentrated around Ash Fork. Further rain was forecast for the afternoon and night.
