Two Bandits Steal $1225 At Breeze Inn Tavern
The Breeze Inn Tavern at 2014 Grand Avenue reported two men in coats and hats entered early today, brandished a pistol and stole 1225 dollars from the bartender and a customer. The gunman wore a blue suit, the accomplice a gray suit. The owner-manager Nick Hubenthal, 2112 West Earls Drive, said 250 dollars came from the register and 75 from his billfold. Customer Joe Lakotas of New York City said he had 900 dollars taken from his billfold. A wire to a table telephone was cut but a wall payphone was not. The bartender alerted the sheriff's office after the robbery.
