Washington report states a 15 year federal program to reseed 100000 acres of national range lands in Arizona and plant 13000 acres of national forests with saplings. Ponderosa pine to be planted in Coconino Apache and Sitgreaves forests as Truman expected to sign the measure within days.

State Luxury Taxes Show Increase in September
Arizona Tax Commission reports total September collections of 2.27 million across sales, gasoline and luxury taxes. Gasoline receipts were 772,464 while other motor fuels totaled 39,107. Highway Building Fund. 568,099 goes to the fund and 243,471 to counties. Maricopa County received 275,585 in gasoline taxes and 11,971 in use fuel taxes. Luxury taxes rose about 30,000 from the prior month. Sales taxes fell to 1,203,364 versus 1,320,036 a year earlier.
