Seminary Graduation Set for 52 Students in Mesa

Fifty two high school juniors and seniors will graduate at 7 30 p m tomorrow at the Mezona from the LDS Seminary in Mesa. President S Dilworth Young of Salt Lake City will deliver the commencement address as the Maricopa Stake quarterly conference opens today and continues tomorrow. Student speakers include Nolan Petersen John Allen Louise Baker and Naomi Huish with musical solos by Joan Davis and Jay Dean Jones.

Tempe High Graduates A Record 87 Students

Tempe High School held exercises on the school lawn with 87 graduates the largest class ever. Valedictorian Marilyn Miller led with 95.69 average, Salutatorian Katherine Wyllys had 95.24, and Patricia Tucker 95.13. Principal E A Row retires July 1 after 40 years.

Queenie the Reynolds plant dog beats cancer and aging

Queenie, a white mongrel mascot of Reynolds Metals maintenance, is recovering from cancer surgery at Kindness Hospital after being cared for by Dr. John Micada. The aging but spirited dog, known as the grand old lady, is loved by shop workers who expect her to return to the grease shop in about a week.
