Chicago gangster shoots wife in mistaken fear of old rivals
Julius Babe Jones, 52, awoke in a Chicago southside one room kitchenette, fired six shots wounding his wife Grace 47 in the neck and groin, killing her. John Fitzgerald, 48, was lightly wounded. Jones claimed a nightmare of old gangsters entering to avenge his squeal and later turned himself in. Police recovered a submachine gun and pistols in the apartment. The slain wife died at Illinois Central Hospital.
