Gunman Robs Pedestrian In Underpass
Lloyd J. Johnson, 19, of 621 South Central Avenue, a cotton picker, told police he was held up at gun point and robbed of his bill fold and $6 last night while walking through the South Central Avenue underpass at the pedestrian level. Autos passed through the tunnel during the hold up as drivers appeared unaware. The robber, who accosted him, pressed a small caliber automatic to his stomach and warned of killing if he moved. A 31-year-old transient was arrested later, found loitering at Union Station and said by detectives to resemble the robber but was not armed when taken into custody.
