Yavapai Board Approves School Budget At $92.50 Aid
Prescott August 11 AP The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a school budget based on 92.50 state aid, rejecting 93.83 per child proposed by Arizona Tax Research Association and Santa Fe Railroad tax department representatives. County Superintendent Edmund Lewis argued the higher figure could deplete funds and force warrants at 6 percent. Lewis urged legislative change to speed aid timing, a proposal discussed at Flagstaff meetings August 6 to 8. Mohave, Apache, Navajo and Coconino counties already shifted to the higher aid.
