YUMA April 19 AP Attention of the Arizona Congress of Parents and Teachers was today focused on civilian defense. For the first time in its history the group named a committee to study the problem. Meeting in their annual convention here the group named Mrs C D Walling Globe chairman of the Civil Defense Committee with Mrs Bert Schoneberger Prescott Don Sheldon Prescott Paul Guitteau Tucson and Mrs Wendell Phillips Phoenix members. The convention will continue through tomorrow. Yesterday two new scholarships were announced. The $100 awards will be given for Cottonwood and Willcox high schools. The scholarships will be given to help defray expenses of college training. The students to receive the awards will be chosen on a merit basis. The congress named Sheldon chairman of the Group Relations Committee.
