The State Fair concessions will set all prices with no overcharges. Vendors must post prices and avoid inferior goods. New facilities and a large automobile enclosure will improve accessibility and safety, with state militia policing grounds and on-site emergency care. A nursery and multiple pavilions will accommodate families, and pure water access will be expanded.
Miss Maurie Durkee of Philip Iowa and Claire Parsons of Maywood Illinois wed in Marshalltown on a Waterloo license. The pastor Rev SB Ellis faces possible fine for crossing county lines. The marriage prompts scrutiny as Parsons appears in Liscomb later, and Durkee family maintains ties to Philip.
