Prof Montgomery Gregory of Howard University heads a colored officers training camp effort in Des Moines Iowa. June 7 is the closing registration date with 250 soldiers from the Twenty fourth and Twenty fifth Infantry and Ninth and Tenth Cavalry plus 1000 civilians expected to attend. Dixon Shot by Former Associate in Nineteenth District
Joseph Dixon, of Hutchinson Street near Pine, was shot by a former associate called Buddy after a gambling dispute. Dixon died minutes later at Pennsylvania Hospital as police sought the assailant in the crowded neighborhood near 10th and Rodman streets.

Old Soldier Dies After Freight Train Accident
