The funeral of General William H. Emory was held at St John’s Episcopal Church this afternoon. Rev Dr Leonard led the service with many army and navy officers present. The Society of the Nineteenth Army Corps was represented by General N W Day. A Third Artillery battalion and two cavalry companies from Fort Meyer formed the military escort. Interment followed at Congressional Cemetery. honorary pallbearers included Admiral D D Porter and several senior officers and officials.

Thomas Myers aged eighty six former sheriff of Langerne County died in Williamsport early yesterday at age eighty six. Early morning fight between rival city boy factions leaves two machinists Henry Weller and Frank Knapp fatally stabbed. Frank Knapp severely gashed and dying, Weller alive with neck area injuries. Frank M. Whitmore a 36 year old business man and member of W B Schmerts Co. was found to have shot himself in his room during a diphtheria induced delirium. The incident occurred while his attendant was away. Whitmore was unmarried and active in Masonry and Christ M E Church.
