R Dawson of Percy Wasson county reports petrified remains of a huge monster along the Des Moines river bank. The body measures about 40 feet long, four feet wide at the tail, with the head separated and 45 feet downstream. He argues the find formed from stone and quartzite, suggesting a carboniferous amphibian.
Elkton December 4 Joan Sowers known as Baldy Sowers dead at home of his son Alexander Sowers Bitton from paralysis aged 1 years celebrated athlete and fireman in Philadelphia for many years. He served with Fairmount Begive Company a volunteer group.

December 4 Rathbsay Ming reports two cases of elephantiasis matelans leprosy in Minnesota. Both Norwegians and heads of families from Ottertall and Wilkin counties. Neither had traveled from Norway recently. both were fishermen who lived largely on a fish diet, which they attribute to their illness.

Oliver T. Bart, sixty five, son of Syracuse’s founder, shot himself at his son in law Irving Dunlap’s house in Syracuse on December 3. Despondent for months, he entered the bathroom at 2 PM and died from a bullet that passed through his head. The body was found an hour later. Bart was a prominent banker and businessman connected with Central City Bank and the Ontario Steamboat Company. His son is a physician in New York.
The sixth victim of the November 17 gasoline explosion at the Edison Electric Light Company storage building died in Jefferson Medical College Hospital. Jesse McArdle, 26, of 110 Miller Street, is the deceased. Coroner Ashbridge will not delay the inquest while surviving workers’ fates are decided.
The St George Assembly plans its seventh reception at the Unleady Monday evening, December 1%. The West End Democratic Club in the Twenty-ninth ward recommends Charles F. Binder for Deputy Sheriff and he is also unanimously endorsed by the Twenty-ninth ward Democratic executive committee.
