Loss in Penticton Mystery After Lake Visit
A visiting gentleman from nearby lake towns spent an evening in Penticton with a professor. They formed a profitable scheme but a secret exposure led to the loss of about seventeen hundred dollars. The man disappeared mysteriously after a night of unrest and rumors of getting lost in the bush and an underground passage to the Steamer Okanagan. No search party has yet been reported.

Fatal Falling Rock Death At Hedley Mine
A miner named John McKinnon foreman at the Nickel Plate Mine was killed instantly when a rock fell and crushed his skull at Hedley on Tuesday. He was known in Fairview and Camp McKinney for prior mining work and was the sole support of his aged parents at Hedley. Dr. White, coroner, and L. W. Shatford departed for Hedley Thursday morning.
