Penticton Quadrille Club Hosts Inauguration Ball
The Penticton Quadrille Club held an inaugural dance last Friday with about fifty attendees. Kelowna Dance Orchestra provided music and the club's president and committee organized a welcoming event with supper. Future plans include a fancy dress masquerade on the 27th at Steward's Hall, with prizes for best costumes.

The Literary and Debating Society held its second debate of the season on Thursday evening. The topic was whether Canada has reached the duties and responsibilities of nationhood. J F Tupper and Leon Blatchford supported the affirmative against J Barker and A S Miller. The judges Mutch Hibbert Layton favored the affirmative. Next Thursday features a literary and musical evening with papers on various subjects promising good attendance.

Farewell Party for Hazel Lancaster Before Seattle Trip
A surprise farewell gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Chas Greer honored Hazel Lancaster on Monday evening before her departure to Seattle to pursue musical studies. Guests guessed book titles from pictures, played games, and shared a lunch, ending with Auld Lang Syne.
