Dominion Day Draws Large Outsider Attendance at Penticton
A busy Okanagan Lake event drew many visitors from Kelowna Summerland Naramata and other valleys for a day of aquatic and athletic contests. War canoes horse races and the ten mile Marathon highlighted the program with Naramata first in the canoe race and Joe Marsel winning the marathon.

Grading Civil Service Reform Proceeds in Province

Death by accident shocks Sapperton family
Mrs Robi Bowell of Sapperton B C learned of her son Frank Bowell's death near New Westminster last week. At about eighteen he was struck by a sinking log during unloading from a wagon while hauling logs for Geo Eberts to the Burdette stream. He died at Royal Columbian hospital after about two hours. His death follows a year after his father died similarly. Mrs Rowell and Mr Tupper left for the coast upon hearing the news.
