A public meeting in Barnes Hall approved forming a seven member executive to pursue a Penticton public reading room and library. The group will canvass for funds, recruit church and school leaders for a committee, rent rooms from A H Wade for five dollars monthly, and seek parish collectors to support the project.

Fire Brigade Ball Raises Funds for Town Protections
A large crowd attended Steward's Hall last Monday for a dance to fund fire protection. Morgan Bros. Orchestra supplied music with encores while a supper funded by local ladies and stores pleased all. An impromptu auction of leftover cakes added more donations. A masquerade ball is planned for Easter Monday.

W. C. T. U. At Home event in Penticton
The Penticton branch of the W. C. T. U. hosted a successful At Home at the Methodist church on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. R. W. Hibbert chaired the program featuring soloists, readings on Frances E. Willard, and duets. Afternoon refreshments followed.
