Four hurt as shots fired at border crossing near San Ysidro
At the San Ysidro port of entry authorities shut the busiest U.S. border crossing after three vans carrying dozens of illegal immigrants rammed barriers and attempted to storm inspectors. Three occupants were wounded, one critically, and a fourth injured person remained in critical condition as eight northbound lanes reopened hours later. Two ICE agents and a CBP agent fired shots across nine lines. no one returned fire. About 74 people were taken into federal custody. The incident is under investigation by San Diego Police Homicide Unit.
