Crosswalk debate and staff notes dominate borough meeting
Chief Rhone backs Michael Rowles for part time police work with Curwensville. Rowles will attend next week’s council session. A planned mid block crosswalk between the movie theater and Scotto’s restaurant drew opposition from PennDOT and Village officials who say it would not improve safety and could force removal of three parking spots. The panel also found a Front Street crosswalk near the police station is illegal and should be removed. A letter to the editor alleging storm sewer dumping was reviewed, ruling the issue stems from grading and drainage on the neighbor’s property. The Personnel Committee agreed to keep Mack as code enforcement officer. several council members were absent.
