Pendleton Schools Lead State in Education Achievement

Pendleton schools are highlighted as leaders in Indiana in a historical study read by Miss Dorothy Jones. The account documents Busby School District No. 3 from 1832 and notes long term enrollment growth, high attendance, and a curriculum spanning English to vocational tracks.

Pendleton School Progress and Stock Judging Triumphs

Pendleton schools have long prided themselves on quality. A high school commission was granted in 1893 after a temporary panel. The vocational agriculture program, begun in 1913 under H. C. Reid, has produced award winning students, including a stock judging team that won first at the State Fair and sixth at the International in Chicago, with members Robert Thomas, Bert McCallister, and Frederick Taylor.
