In 1833 34 Jonathan Thomas led settlers from Pennsylvania to Indiana to establish Fall Creek Meeting with Spring Creek as its first name. They built a log cabin meeting house in 1836 and held weekly and later monthly worship. Notable visitors Elizabeth Newport Rachel Hicks joined from the East. marriages and school use followed. The community grew with a 1839 monthly meeting at Duck Creek and Fall Creek. Jonathan and Ann Thomas anchored the venture and guided by Mind the Light.
