Falls Park Draws Record Crowds and Big Weekend Take
Crowds packed Falls Park last Sunday with 600 in the pool and long lines at the ticket window. Receipts reached about 250 dollars for the day and around 1,000 dollars for the week. Lightning struck a nearby tree but caused no injuries as crowds stayed in the water despite rain and hail. Bath houses were expanded Monday to accommodate at least 600 next Sunday.

The Bridge Club hosted a dinner at Idlewold Wednesday for Mr. and Mrs. A H George who plan to move to California in about a week. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hammond Mr. and Mrs. W F Teague Mr. and Mrs. W E Witmen Mrs Sabra Aiman Miss Ruby Parson Mr John Wolf and Mr James Brown of Indianapolis. Miss Ladd and Mr. Williams wed June 22 at Oxford Indiana then plan a farm home east of Pendleton. Miss Ladd is Purdue 1921 graduate and former Ohio teacher. Mr Williams Purdue 1922, basketball coach and vocational ag teacher in Markleville. Mrs Ireland hosted bridge for Mrs Taylor with several local guests. the Taylors soon depart for Chicago and Los Angeles.
