Massive Anderson fire destroys nine homes and sheds
A blaze starting in the lathe shed of J. W. Bailey coal yard swept nine adjacent dwellings in Anderson on Saturday. Losses run from 3 000 to 40 000 with Bailey company at 10 000 and several homes including the Keltner and Ennis properties burned or damaged. Thousands watched as volunteers helped move furniture from burning structures.
