Brick Contract Set For New Reformatory
The Reform atory trustees and Governor McCray awarded a contract to Brazil Brick Company for over 1,000,000 buff-colored bricks at 27.50 per thousand with a price floor tied to freight or brick costs. Excavation on the 4,000 foot wall around the prison has begun, the switch grading is 2,000 feet complete of 5,600 total, and construction staff led by Superintendent Fred Friedline is expanding. Foundations for the first industrial building are done, the second started, and the power house will begin next week as labor increases.

Miss Ida Ostermeyer and Mrs. Ida M. Wood of Indianapolis depart Sunday for an extended western journey with stops in Colorado Yellowstone Park Yakima and Seattle Washington. They will sail from Seattle to San Francisco then go to Los Angeles for at least a year. Mrs. Wood formerly from Pendleton has worked at L. S. Ayres Company in Indianapolis for two and a half years. Mrs. I. B. Jones hosted the 500 Club at her west of town residence Tuesday night.
