Indicted criminals draw sentences at Salem court
Six recently indicted and self confessed criminals appeared in court this morning. William Evans received a two year penitentiary sentence for stealing elk teeth and other items from Indians. Leslie Butler was granted a suspension of sentence for good behavior, while Thomas Balcom was sentenced and paroled. Clarence Ogilvy received a suspension for good behavior. J H Maxwell was paroled after an assault charge. Theodore Cramer was arraigned on local option violations with bonds set at 200 dollars and remains in jail unable to post.
