Milton capitalists plan modern hotel on Main and Fair corner
In Milton Sept 3 local capitalists form plans to build a modern northwest hotel. A. M. Elam proposes a two story block 70 by 100 feet with a 20 by 160 foot strip for a smaller structure. Upper floors would house hotel rooms while lower floors hold offices and a store. Project cost estimates run $6000 to $7000 for the smaller building. Washington horticulture head Dumas and Walla Walla club manager Meacham toured local packing houses and the Milton Nursery, praising methods and the 160 acre grounds. They urged Milton fruit growers to market potential. Attorney Godwin arrived from Baker City to help Mrs. Godwin move. James Shaw died at 85 near Sunnyside from blood poisoning. Mrs. Brown sold western city property to C. R. Samuels for 3000 and plans Boise trip. Dr. Kink's New Life Pills advertised by Tallman & Co.
