Robbers blew open the Alvadore post office safe near Eugene using nitroglycerine last night and took about $30 in private funds. No government funds appear missing. Entrance gained by prying the store front door. the safe was demolished and the burglars used chewing gum to seal cracks.
Washington seethes as senate moves toward passing the eight hour bill with Wilson expected to sign. Brotherhood spokesman Garretson said a strike order would be canceled once the amended bill becomes law, while senators debate enforcement and rights under the new measure.

Florence Ore Sept 1 A 14 year old girl and a Mapleton Ariz man wed aboard the launch Reslew off the coast beyond the three mile limit. The ceremony was performed by Captain Ira Herringwon with relatives and friends aboard. The couple later returned to Florence marking one of the recent high sea weddings.
