Stolen Race Horse Bud Wade Found Dead
Bud Wade, the famed Walla Walla running horse owned by Elmer Hogeboom, was found in a Blue Mountains lane in poor condition and died a few days after being brought home. The horse, once a top Northwest racer and two years past Derby winner, had broken a leg last winter and was pastured on Russell Creek. Experts believe he was abducted from his pasture, used as a pack animal, then abandoned in a secluded mountain spot without food or water, leading to his death.
