Tigers win retaliation game as Pittsburg and Detroit each hold three games to their credit Mullin keeps Pirates in control while Pittsburg uses Abres twirlers Nationals start strong with three in the first T. Jones suffers serious injury.
Detroit fans watched a tense duel as the Tigers evened the series with a win over the Pirates. Mullin dominated after a rough start, while Pittsburgh’s pitcher held Detroit in check until late. The decisive seventh game will be played in Detroit on Saturday to crown the champion.
Detroit and Pittsburgh clash in the sixth game as Pitt s Pittsburgh leads 3 1 and Detroit ties 3 0 after four innings. Willis pitches for Pittsburgh with Gibson catching while Mullin starts for Detroit with Schmidt behind the plate. First inning sees Byrne and Leach single for Pittsburgh and Crawford scoring for Detroit.

In Chicago a bandit robber who seized five hundred dollars from the D. M. Erskine Livings bank fled in an automobile after threatening cashier Duffy. A running chase with police led to a confrontation in which the marshal wounded the robber near the heart and the outlaw killed himself. Identified as Lamar H. Harris of Los Angeles, the suspect had fled California after money troubles.
Ralph Wilner of New York an engineer employed by an American firm was expelled from a St Petersburg hotel by police after his six month permit of abode expired. He had assumed the six months started on crossing the frontier but learned it was counted from the permit issue date.
Cascade Locks resident Frank L Wait stays at Hotel St. George as a guest, according to local society notes. The visit highlights nearby travel and hospitality activity in the city.

A gasoline stove explosion at the Hexter cottages on Jackson Street near Main destroyed the Herr family dwelling and caused extensive damage to adjacent houses. Washington October 13 Attorney General Wickersham declined to state his views on dismissing removal proceedings in the Panama libel cases in Indianapolis.
