C B Wade leads season with wins at all fairs and big buys in Willamette valley stock. He sold Hereford yearling bull Odd Fellow for 500 to a Honolulu firm and purchased nine-cow Oak Farm herd from Ladd of Portland, to be exhibited at Spokane and then brought to Wade’s Grand View Farm. Wade aims to keep Eastern Oregon ahead in stock production.
Washington reports operators and miners agreeing to a president appointed commission to settle disputes. The panel will include military and mining experts, a judge, a sociologist, and a seasoned coal man to study the issue and report back. Mitchell expected to accept terms. debate continues on member selections and arbitration status.
United States Attorney Will institute proceedings against the salt trust. Woodworth considers steps toward suit against the Federal Balt Company, doing business as the Salt Trust. A suit to dissolve the trust is believed to be filed in U S court this week.
L Stubbletiola ships a consignment of fine horses from Wave Rostork yards to Seattle this evening. They are said to be the best jet of animals ever shipped from Pendleton and from eastern Oregon ranges. Horses were gathered from various spots in Umatilla county.

Baltimore Maryland October 14 stockholders met after the board of directors authorized a $60 000 000 issue of first mortgage bonds. The meeting aimed to increase the common capital stock to satisfy Maryland law limiting bonded indebtedness to authorized capital.
In New York on October 14 ex secretary of the treasury Charles Fairchild was struck by a street car this morning. He was knocked down and, according to reports, fatally injured though conditions were not yet certain.
Fakia Epinger, previously released, is jailed again on a pocketbook theft near Maze saloon. The incident began when Monteith noticed a missing watch after Epinger lingered in his room at Columbia lodging. Police recovered the watch at a second hand shop as Epinger was held for further developments.
