Northwest protests pressuring Taft over Seattle case

Tacoma Olympia and Portland leaders filed a petition to President Taft urging a full investigation into a Seattle streetcar conflict and the Hanford injunction. Taft to Attend Tacoma Banquet Tonight

President Taft arrives in Tacoma to be welcomed by thirty citizens who will host a banquet at a $2 charge. The banquet is arranged by the Chamber of Commerce board chairman. Taft will speak at the armory tonight before retiring to the Tacoma hotel and departing tomorrow for Olympia, Portland, and intermediate points.

Taft Arrival Preparations Underway in Portland

Portland committees and police report completion of plans for President Taft’s arrival from Olympia tonight at 8 o’clock. A promenade is planned through the principal streets, followed by a banquet at the Commercial Club and an address at the Armory. He will attend a Knights of Columbus reception and depart for San Francisco at 2 o’clock Thursday morning.

Explosion injures seven at Telluride mine shaft

In Telluride Colorado seven men were hurt yesterday two seriously when dynamite exploded inside the Lewis mine shaft house eight miles from town. Firefighters were at work when about 20 pounds of dynamite, unnoticed in the excitement, exploded. Injured men were pinned by falling timbers. Property damage described as small.

Falls Twenty-Five Feet Into a Well
