Pendleton district fair hosts an Automobile Night parade at 7 p m arranged by Walter McCormack of the Pendleton ants company. Most city autos and many from nearby will join, with torches and marching bands. parade forms on Johnson Street at 6 30 and travels Main Court and Ally streets, viewing along those routes. Earlier Main Street featured a grand school parade led by McElroy's band with Field School pupils and flag decorations under teachers Miss Roxene Epple Hazel Weller Alma Harris.
Commander Peary and his wife reached New York on October 1 and were greeted by Peary Arctic club secretary Bridgman. The Roosevelt with Peary aboard moved up the Hudson to join the Audubon Fulton parade as Peary declined further remarks on the Cook Peary controversy.
In Banning California on October 11 the body of Mary Boniface a 14 year old Piute girl kidnapped by Billy Hoy after he killed her father is found. She was shot twice in the back and believed murdered while trying to escape. A posse pursues Hoy who has fled since last Monday. he is described as a deadly shot and well armed.

Teachers listed include principal Miss Florence Harris, Miss Celestine Moorhouse, and Mrs. Augusta Moule. Washington School followed, showing good effort though decorations were sparse. its teachers are principal Miss Gravee Miller, Miss Lulu George, Miss Lulu Keller, Miss Stella Marple, and Miss Sadie Bhhum.
Prizes totaling $1000 will be awarded at the National Dry Farming Congress in Billings Montana for wheat grown without irrigation within 25 miles of a Northern Pacific railroad. The Sao ne tunnel under West minister St. Paul opens for traffic today.
