Cane Wing leads United States Senate race in Umatilla County with a margin around 268 votes as full returns from 34 of 43 precincts show suffrage leaning Democratic. Democratic gains appear in GOP strongholds while West Virginia's status remains doubtful, reflecting shifting legislative power.
Election dispatch from New York reports Wilson gaining in returns with an estimated 499 electoral votes and a possible addition from Wyoming. Roosevelt reportedly nets about 67. socialist gains noted with three legislative seats. In Indianapolis, the contest between Deveridge and Ralston shows a decisive Democratic plurality of 101,405.
Reports that he will join the Wilson cabinet surface as Col Bryan declines to discuss the subject. Roosevelt leads in several states with California showing Roosevelt gains and Wilson trailing by tens of thousands in Los Angeles area. Chicago reports David W. Mulvane Taft western headquarters manager mailed his vote from Chicago to his Topeka home due to duties as campaign manager. He did not mark a sample ballot and it will be sent to the county clerk to pass to local election officials in Mulvane's precinct.
Princeton, SN. C. Now. The cabinet will be announced during President-elect Wilson and his wife Bermuda visit. They depart November 16 for a fortnight. a private yacht is at Wilson's disposal. He may name the cabinet upon return and pursue a reform program after New Years. He slept late and answered telegrams.
A partial OCR readout lists several county officials and candidates including George W. Bradley County Treasurer Frank Sailing County Clerk L L Mann and J T Hinkle along with sheriff L Taylor and other county roles such as assessor surveyor coroner and superintendent.
With 4 of 4 percent precincts counted in Minatilla County, Witon Witte leads Tattauc and Roosevelt, Sel ling leads Tone by 288 votes, and Equal Suffrage faces a narrow deficit. Partial results from Pendleton and Multnomah show Wilson leading Taft nationally while Debs and socialist votes appear unexpectedly strong in some counties.
Spokane voters report partial results from November 7 with 147 of 171 precincts counted. Hay leads Republican ticket with 8784 votes, Lister Democrat 5168, Hodge Progressive 6808. Roosevelt leads in 161 precincts. Falconer and Bryan, Progressives, lead for congress.
New York Nov 7 report notes that if Democrats win two of three doubtful states Oregon Michigan Wyoming they would gain control of the Senate.
Perth Oregon reports results showing suffrage favored statewide by margins from 2000 to 5000. Lane leads Selling for the senator ship by about 1200 with final returns expected to pull the lead to roughly 1800. Wilson’s Oregon plurality likely near 100,000.
Medford and Grants Pass dispatches show early returns from Jackson and Josephine counties. Taft leads Roosevelt in the totals with 162 to 419 and Wilson 411, Bourne 365, as preliminary counts from thirteen precincts in Josephine are compiled.

In Umatilla county early returns show Equal Suffrage leading by about 200 with 1242 Yeas to 1040 Nays though not complete. Other measures trailing include capital punishment abolition, Blue Sky law, and state printer bill while public service regulation and highway creation show mixed results across precincts.
Nov. 7 Susy Francisco reports storm cutoffs in northern districts leave state results incomplete. Of 432 districts, 8404 counties have sent returns. projections suggest Wilson leads in the state by about five thousand votes.
Montreal May reports the Royal George, a Canadian Royal Mail steamer, aground on rocks in the St Lawrence. About 814 passengers were aboard and 25 crew rescued. 200 crew and many passengers remain onboard as a violent storm and shallow six feet of water threaten a total loss.
