San Francisco May 24 J B Young president of the deficit Goldfield bank and Fran ta Burton closely connected with the bank were arrested last night and agreed this morning to return to Goldfield without requisition. Later friends demanded their release which was refused. Habeas corpus proceedings may be instituted.

The auditor's report dated June 30 1904 sets the exact value at 15 047 010. An increase over the prior year suggests a total surpassing 16 million. The report also notes a proposed School of Technology with curricula in mathematics chemistry physics and languages and the creation of museums in geology paleontology anthropology history commerce sociology and botany and biblical departments.

Mrs J Sears of Lewiston Idaho died May 24 following severe burns in February.
