Medford Mass March 23 Dr Elmer Hewitt Capen president of Tufts College died this morning of pneumonia at age 66. Capen led the university since 1906 and was renowned for expanding research and campus facilities.
In Lincoln Nebraska on March 22 the senate approved a measure already backed by the house. The bill requires all healers to complete a four year medical course and pass the same examination as regular physicians. The Kansas legislature has previously failed to pass a similar bill in five sessions.
Robbery killed Colton merchant J. W. Shamate last night as he slept in his store. The intruder opened the door and a single gunshot fired from a one barrel pistol ended the life. A revolver with five empty chambers was found beside the body.
