Echo Oregon March 14 special correspondence reports the Echo Mercantile company has received four carloads of farming implements showing strong local demand amid dry farming growth. Perry Gould, formerly a Pendleton businessman and Portland stockyards dealer, rents Mrs C F Thomson’s Buttercreek farm and will oversee its management with his family moving from Portland. Local social notes include Mrs Anna Young visiting Stanfield, J B Saylor visiting Freewater, Mrs Alexander Reid returning to Stanfield, Mrs BE Riep visiting Pendleton, Mrs W H Long visiting Stanfield, J R Jordan in Pendleton, and J W Coppinger and Edith Sherman Coppinger returning from their Seattle honeymoon to Echo where he will work in business.

Butte Aims to Bring Dr Friedmann to City
Butte Montana March 14 Members of the board of county commissioners allocated 2200 from county funds to form a nucleus of a 10000 fund to attract Dr Friederich Friedmann to the city. About 2000 residents suffer from the white plague with most cases from copper mine work. Within four hours over 1000 more was pledged. If Friedmann cannot come, a committee of local physicians will go to New York to observe demonstrations at the expense of the Butte public.

Suffragette Meetings Disrupted by Opponents in England

In Oregon an auction bid deadline of March 21, 1913, is set for the bankruptcy estate of C E Roosevelt at The Wooston Store, Pendleton, with stock valued at about 14714 and fixtures 800, total 15614.10, bids cash with bank references.
