Improvements at new hospital progress amid grounds work
Improvements at the Eastern Oregon hospital continue with grounds being laid out. Superintendent McNary plans to start soon on yard work, adding that the building's stage library and operating rooms will be completed as funding allows. Patients enjoy open porches and grounds as work moves toward a larger orchard clearing, cottage for the superintendent, and a new edifice planned for the Church and Fourth streets site once frost ends. Baker Oregon March 10 reports a sale of interest in mining claims, and Walla Walla dirt streets receive spring cleanup under City street crews.

Farmer Never So Well Cared For As Now
In Omaha hearing March 10 witnesses for the defense in the government trust suit against International Harvester testified the farmer is better cared for now by modern implements. Mayor John W. Patterson of Kearney said farmers hitch machines to wagons and only benefit from dealer rebates when experts aren’t sent. Witnesses noted binders and mowers price progress lagging other lines, and discussed binding materials with wire favored over twine. Newberry reported slower price advance for harvesting gear. IH has improved binders and often sent machines for trial, with twelve-year monopoly claims in his territory. Patterson, an implement dealer, said his town sold 75,000 worth of farm machinery last year, half IH.
