Inland Empire Sheep Shearing Nears Completion
The 40,000 sheep on the upper Snake river are nearly shorn and soon will move to summer ranges in the mountains. Wool quality is good but prices are unsatisfactory, with some dockage for sand and dirt. Sheep inspection remains strict for out of state or forest-bound drives. Wasco county reports no disease due to strong inspector efforts. Track teams visiting Baker City caused a bill dispute but left town with a solid reputation for integrity.
