Reports from the Blue mountains describe heavy sheep losses for bands of the J. E. Smith Company with about 600 head sal to have perished and others suffering up to 2000 in areas near Beaver Creek and Kitvale corral. Snow depth reached a foot at the timber edge, snow melt reducing danger, while herders cut small trees for browse. Hunters and locals, including J. Vey and the LaFontaines, say weather turned clearer but many flocks remain at risk as the storm up to the summit recedes.

Postoffice Robbed in Sundryride May 29
Post office in Sundyride was entered last night by breaking the front door and robbed of about 1000 dollars. Burglars dynamited the safe and blew it to pieces, taking the box inside the safe that held the cash. Postmaster George Vetter reports no clues and authorities have been notified.

Operator Electrocuted At Petaluma Argus Plant
Corwin Beckway, a Typing Hiotype operator at the Petaluma Argus, was killed when he touched a live wire while near a 220 volt circuit.
