Capitol Work Begins For New Inland Empire Building
At a capitol commission meeting Superintendent Quigley was ordered to assemble a crew to remove a small arsenal building and clear the grounds for the Capitol foundation. Excavation for the foundation and basement will start soon, with central section work to be done by the state to lower contract costs. Plans aim for the best building possible within the current appropriation. An associated note mentions personnel at Spokane, with Northern Pacific promotions and potential successor for the Tacoma post.

A Boston firm has already purchased the 1906 clip for 17 cents per pound, with contracts made for the 1905 lot as well. The flockmaster expects prices to drop further before next season and sought a $15,000 advance, which was granted. Albert Lea notes Thomas W. Lawson’s final Chautauqua speech and swing through Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota criticizing capitalistic combines. He departs for Boston via Canada, urging labor to assert itself.
