Well Disaster Claims Two Lives Near Goldendale
In Goldendale Oregon on July 10 John Shoemaker aged 40 and his father, 70, died while drilling a well eighteen miles from town. After a blast at forty feet, the son descended and was overcome by gas, fell and broke his neck. The father followed, was overcome, and collapsed across his son. Their wives nearby summoned help. The Shoemakers were from North Yakima.
