WILL HOLD COTTON Chor. Southern Farmers Union Decides Up on Plan to Keep Up Prices
Jackson Mississippi July. Nearly every Mississippi county is represented by local Farmers Union officials at a meeting to discuss cotton policy and the percentage to hold during low prices. Warehousing of cotton will be discussed as the warehousing campaign expands with several new companies launched and more expected to be erected in time for storage of the season's crop. President Hightower is confident that with a system of warehouses and backing from pledged banks, the union can hold the season's crop and market it at agreed periods, financing distress cotton and improving chances of a successful holding movement over last year.
