The city owns a steam fire engine and holds a writ in reserve for emergencies. Apparatus purchases totaled 1 027.75 this year with operating expenses of 2 196.28 including water rent 1 200. The department’s total annual expense reached 3 925.03. Fourteen fire alarms were answered, causing 12 000 in city damage, the largest single loss 4 500.
