Indians Enjoy Huge New Year Feast at Tutuilla Mission
The Tu tuilIa Mission held a cooperative New Year feast starting Dec 30 with visitors from Yakima and Lapwal reservations. Amon Pond, Joe Allen, and Allen Pathwa led fund-raising of 59.75 for food, with 201 guests served at multiple dinners. Speeches by Corbitt Neg Perce, Stephen Ruten, and Charles Skumilt accompanied by local elders and temperance talks. 71 communion participants attended the Sabbath service, a New Year bank offering of 9.27 for the Home Mission Board, and a temperance pledge signed during services. Visitors dispersed by Sunday, many returning home.
