Joseph Kane of M'Kay Creek Dies in Arizona
Joseph Kane, longtime McKay Creek farmer and miner, died of tuberculosis in Phoenix after traveling south for health. Born in Ireland in 1862, he immigrated in 1881 and later owned land on McKay Creek. He married in Goldfield in 1909. his widow FE Anderson, a son, a stepson, and several siblings survive. His body will be shipped home to McKay Creek.

Salem Ore Feb 14 A general reduction in express rates in Oregon will take effect about March 1 after a Portland conference between the state railroad commission and express company representatives. Chairman Clark of the interstate commerce commission said the reductions are favorable and will mainly affect rates from Portland. Burglars Crack Safe at East Court Street Bakery
Burglars broke into Charles Rohrman bakery and grocery on East Court Street last night, forcing a rear window and opening an inner door with a chisel.
