Auburn Cal Feb 11 strong evidence for state in Weber murder trial centers on Henry Carr of San Francisco who testified he sold a pistol and five cartridges to Weber and loaded five more in manila paper. Carr identified Weber as the buyer. Adrian Willy, Weber’s schoolmate, testified to events the night of the fire including wet clothes and ice cream at Will’s home as the defendant pressed to visit a girl. A jewelry heist in Montreal was reported with safes blown and $10,000 in diamonds stolen.
Portland February 11 A young fruitseller Amella Siritl nl at Front street was shot and killed instantly by Joseph Florebello, a Haltan who had pursued Mrs Birithat, a widow. He approached the fruit stand at 10 pm, spoke briefly, drew a pistol and shot twice in the head. Florebello is at large.
