Snowbound Lines Delays Mark Blue Mountain Voyage
February 1903 brief notes report trains halted by heavy snow on Blue Mountain between Pendleton and Walla Walla. A passenger and freight mix train backed up near Downing station, while the carrier’s winter equipment and pilots slow the ascent. The Walla Walla Poultry Show plans a larger, nationally judged event in 1904 with Eastern judges and notable figures leading the effort.
