Salem, Ore February 8 Governor Wert reprieved Frank Garrison, Coos County murderer, until December 18. He was sentenced to hang tomorrow. Garrison is the second man whose life Wert has left to the voters. Holdups Charge $90 For Curing Toothache in Portland

Desperate Mine Rescue Reunites Families in Amador County
Sixty two miners trapped two hundred feet underground in the Bunker Hill mine for twenty four hours were rescued at noon. A landslide had filled the entrance, but rescuers cleared debris and fed the men via a pump line. Italians and Austrians were among the rescuees and none were killed or injured.
