Baker City February 6 General Manager Frank E B Perea returned from Erie Pennsylvania home of principal owners of the Iron Dyke mine. He attended a director conference outlining future developments. This morning Perea was served with papers in a mortgage foreclosing action for 208000 and another suit to recover a 21000 judgment in favor of A L Cartae. The mortgage covers the Iron Dyke group thirty claims and all machinery tools buildings materials and miscellaneous equipment.
The Golden Rule store was broken into last night with back doors pried open and a small amount of cash, nickels and dimes, taken. Police have no clues and report no further losses at this time. Conductor C. 8. Brown and Mrs. Brown have returned from Hot Springs Arkansas, where he sought health, and he plans to resume his run soon.
The county court met to grant a liquor license to A B Stephens & Company of Umatilla. Papers were in order and license was granted. The court adjourned until Monday for revising the list of judges and clerks for the coming election.

Mr and Mrs R C Judson stayed at the Hotel St George brief ly yesterday and today as he heads to Walla Walla to help organize the Northwest Livestock Association. Police traced a disturbance aboard a westbound passenger train near Gibbon after four hoboes threatened crew and brandished a gun. By the time officers arrived at the depot the men had disembarked above the city and vanished, leaving no trace.
C. C. Taylor returned to Freewater to serve papers in an attachment case against Kelly and Kelly, saloonkeepers, who allegedly owe for liquor furnished to a wholesale home. The Freewater saloon remains closed as the dispute unfolds.
