Tom O'Brien, a stage driver, disappeared with the stage, horse, and mail near Lawen after departing Venator. The run included nine passengers and a drunken foreign nobleman. New York February 5 Arrangements are complete for a two week motor boat show at Herald Square under the National Motor Auto Boat Exposition. Leading manufacturers exhibit new power boats as estimates project 16 000 more afloat by midsummer. The collapsible Engelhardt lifeboat weighs 1000 pounds and can be launched quickly for passenger safety.

Frank Romogoux of Alkali died this morning at age 65 after several days of illness from pneumonia. A longtime farmer and Woodmen member, his funeral is planned for tomorrow afternoon under Woodmen auspices. Ralph Folsom of Baker & Folsom traveled to Alkali to retrieve the body.
Spokane February 6 Washington county assessors met in secret to raise railroad taxes. They added fifteen cents per foot to first class tracks, ten cents to second class, and five cents to third class. Twenty six counties exist in the state. The plan to set a statewide farm assessment of 7202 dollars per mile on first class railroad tracks passed with fourteen counties backing it.
In Walla Walla on February 6 Marvin Gilaspy Thomas Vernon and Oliver Bergman were arrested for stealing chickens making five thieves confined in the city jail. They admitted a townwide spree selling fowls to a Chinese noodle restaurant and pleaded guilty before Justice Hulf receiving a $25 fine and costs. East Reno Nevada suffered a February cyclone that damaged several substantial buildings but caused no injuries.
