Chinook winds warmed the prairie as snow receded after days of six inch depths. In North Yakima the YMCA will stop free Sunday breakfasts, a program running 122 Sundays. Nine colts entered for the North Yakima futurity race to be held July 4 at the state fair grounds, a half mile best two in three event.
A mammoth carrot grown by H. H. Rowell in Lewiston Idaho weighs 12 pounds 16 ounces and was dug January 28. The oversized vegetable is on display in Lewiston orchards, noted as the largest carrot ever shown in the city.
Tekoa Washington reports T E Landers of Lone Pine sells his 1910 wheat crop of about 3000 bushels to J S Woods of Northern Grain and Warehouse for 63 cents per bushel. Also notes 150,000 trees planned for Walla Walla valley planting, with about 160,000 trees expected this year as conditions are favorable.
Orofino. H Berg, formerly in tailoring near Winston, plans a goat dairy on a local homestead. He received four milch goats by express from New Mexico to stock a pasture prepared for them.
Sheriff J J Nicholson of Wallace Idaho states he started today to return to Wallace with prisoner Boxwell who forged checks totaling 1000 dollars on the Lead Silver Mining company around January 1. The notice comes from Washington DC.
Lewiston Idaho records show unusually mild January weather with few exceptions. The temperature has been the mildest in 16 years, the lowest point about 15.5 degrees above zero and a warm rain has fallen for several hours, causing ice to drift downstream.
